Shoes!

While researching recycled products I came across shoes! In 2004, a company called Simple Shoes had an idea to use all natural materials to manufacture shoes. They created a line of shoes called the Green Toe collection, made from 100% natural materials. Their packaging is even eco-friendly too with no tags, biodegradable bags, and 100% post-consumer (remember that?) recycled boxes, and get this- BAMBOO linings which I was excited about. In 2007 they included recycled materials, like car tires or plastic bottles, into the production of these great shoes. Also, they use organic cotton which benefits the environment just as well as the farmers who grow it. Last year in 2008 Simple Shoes began incorporating other natural materials, like hemp, into their product, and other recycled materials such as innertubes and bicycle tires too. Pretty cool Simple shoes.

  1. Have you ever heard of Tom's shoes? They were in some credit card (I think it was a credit card, at least) commercial not too long ago. They donate shoes to people who don't have them and need them. Basically that's it, but you should look it up.
